Sweat Stories: Natasha Randhawa

Hi! My name is Natasha and I’ve been an avid Spinunity rider for 4 months now. I can’t say that I’ve been a fitness fanatic my whole life, but in the last 8-10 years I’ve become much more disciplined in ensuring physical fitness was a top priority for me.  I had been a “big box gym” member for quite a few years and wanted to try something new.  I tried a couple of smaller fitness studios and felt like it was a better fit for me.

I completed my postgrad degree in Optometry in Philadelphia and tried spin for the first time. Was it a great workout- Yes. Was I hooked- No! After completing school, I returned to Edmonton and found myself again dragging myself through the revolving doors into the enormous building with little to no motivation. I needed to shake things up and get out of the lackadaisical rut!

I attended my first class in November 2016 and I’ve been hooked ever since. The wide variety of sessions has prevented me from getting back into that rut as there are many different class types to choose from.  I find that the instructors and environment are both very motivating. The music is great and management understands exactly what their clients want. There is never a time where I’m not motivated in class.

The two Spinunity locations are perfect for me. The Sherwood Park location is minutes from my practice and the Windermere location is minutes from my house – no excuses to not show up!!

I currently own Sherwood Park Eye Centre and practice there from Tuesdays to Saturdays. Seeing patients and running a business all day can be mentally tiring. Spinunity lets me leave all the work related stress at the door.

My husband and I are expecting twins (boy and girl) in June! I have been working out regularly since I got pregnant and intend on working out as long as I can until the little ones arrive. I already know that I will have spin withdrawals for the few months that I’m away post-pregnancy. The owners, Jordan and Jeff, along with the other instructors, have been more than accommodating with my workouts as they make the appropriate modifications for me.

When the music gets louder and the lights get dimmer, I know I’m in the right place.
