FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I’VE NEVER CYCLED BEFORE, IS THAT OKAY?

Yes, everyone is welcome! Please arrive 15 minutes early and an experienced instructor will help you set up your bike. Although we ride together in rhythm, you can always adjust the tension on your bike to a level that is appropriate for you.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Our bikes have 2 sided pedals that accommodate gym shoes or spd clip in bike shoes. Come prepared to sweat with your workout clothing and a water bottle. We’ll provide you with filtered water and a sweat towel.

DOESN’T CYCLING JUST WORK YOUR LEG MUSCLES?

While your legs will get a great strengthening workout, spin is a low-impact workout perfect for improving cardiovascular fitness. Our fusion spin, spin & strength, and spin & yoga classes will also work your core and arm muscles.

HOW DO YOUR CLASS PASSES & MEMBERSHIPS WORK?

Our class passes can be used at both our Sherwood Park or Edmonton locations.  All class passes have an expiry date but can be extended at the discretion of the studio owner.

HOW MANY CALORIES CAN I BURN?

It varies from person-to-person but high intensity cardiovascular exercise is a great way to achieve a quality workout.  With regular practice you will increase your metabolism which means you will burn even more calories at rest! Most of our classes incorporate strength training which also increases your resting calorie burn.

CAN I USE SPIN TO HELP TRAIN FOR MY TRIATHLON OR OTHER RACE/EVENT?

Absolutely!  Spin class will ensure you push those power requirements for endurance events.  Group exercise gets you out of the elements when the weather is poor and out of your element as opposed to working out on your own.

Spinunity: FAQs

When promoting a business and looking for customers, making sure that everyone is taken care of is a priority. When it comes to fitness and health, people want to know everything they can about a particular service or product. You need to make sure that this organization is legitimate and will truly help you with what you need.

Here at Spinunity, we want to make sure that our customers know everything about our studio and the classes that we offer. Whether you are inquiring about the requirements or the membership details, you can find them here. Take a look at some of our FAQs below:

  1. I’ve never cycled before, is that okay?
Absolutely! We believe that your fitness journey needs to start somewhere, so there’s no need to feel nervous. On your first session, make sure to arrive 15 minutes before the class starts so an instructor can help you set up the bike and teach you the basics on how to use it. During the class, you can always adjust your rhythm and go at a comfortable pace.
  2. What do I need to bring?
Here in Spinunity, we provide basic items such as sweat towels and filtered water. Our bikes also have 2-sided pedals that can fit both sneakers and bike shoes. Don’t forget to bring a change of clothes and a water bottle as well.
  3. Does cycling only work your leg muscles?
Cycling will work your leg muscles, but it will also do more than that. Spin classes help with cardiovascular strength and also help work your glutes, core, and booty. Certain programs will also help with your arm strength and even flexibility with TRX training.
  4. How do your classes and memberships work?
We have class passes that allow people to enter the studio and participate in the class. They have expiry dates so you need to make sure that you use them before then. In terms of the membership, you can apply for one when you visit our facility by filling up a form and paying a monthly fee.
  5. How many calories can I burn?
Since cardiovascular workouts are generally intense, you can burn a lot of calories. The specific number depends on the person and their metabolism, but the more you practice and workout, the more calories you’ll burn over time.
  6. Can I use spinning classes to train for a triathlon?
Absolutely! If you are training for a triathlon, spin classes are amazing for training the important muscles and will help you build your strength. However, we also advise that you take the time to exercise outside now and then to prepare your body for the outdoor surroundings.
